Commission rates are never part of that conversation, and a weak or preliminary study is reported as weak or preliminary whether or not a product link sits nearby.
Links to a published study, a government agency page, a research institution, or a university press release are citations, not affiliate links — nobody gets paid when you click one of those. The commercial links are specifically the retailer or "check price" links attached to a product mentioned alongside a finding.
Entries are built from publicly available material — published studies, institutional press releases, and, where relevant, a manufacturer's own ingredient or safety disclosures — not from review units supplied by a brand and not from a paid placement.
